Wendover Woods, Bucks
Wendover Woods sits at the highest point in the stunning Chiltern Hills, and is home to three exciting high ropes experiences for adventurers of all ages.
Treetop Challenge is for adults and secondary aged children, featuring crossings through the canopy that climb higher and higher above the forest floor before zipping back to the ground.
Youngsters under 6 years or looking to build their confidence will love Treetop Adventure, beginning their experience on a low loop before heading to the tree tops. Explorers over 6 years and 1.2m can test their skills on Treetop Adventure Plus, brand new for 2024!

GO WILD AT WENDOVER woods
Wendover Woods - where you’ll find Go Ape Wendover - is the perfect blend of vibrant scenery and stunning views over Oxford, London and down the valley.
The Forest Centre has almost finished a multi-million-pound re-development so there’s a brand new café opening, promising stunning Chiltern views.
There are lots to explore in this 325-hectare woodland. Hit one of the walking trails and you may spot one of Europe’s smallest birds – the rare firecrest.
If you fancy a fresh twist on the walking front – you can give Nordic Walking a try with Ridgeway Nordic Walking who run sessions at Wendover for all levels and abilities.
If you prefer to do your exploring on two wheels, bring the bikes and hit the family cycle trail. There’s a well-surfaced trail with some climbs and descents.
Looking for more? Then enjoy orienteering, the Zog Activity Trail, Gruffalo sculpture, running trails and if you get here for 9am on a Saturday you can join in on the weekly parkrun!
Location Overview
Know Before You Go
- All mobile phones taken on the courses must be secured in a phone pouch with a lanyard. Lanyards worn around the neck must have a breakaway clasp.
- Wear sensible clothes for adventure.
- Footwear must be sturdy and suitable for the outdoors. No sandals, slip off shoes, open toes or heels.

Gloves are a good idea. Either bring a pair or you can buy them at the cabin on the day.

Go Ape Wendover no longer features the climbing wall as part of the course.
Make A Day of It
- Explore the highest point in the Chilterns (267m).
- Quest the wood for deer and Europe’s smallest bird, the firecrest.

Head to Boddington hillfort for some archaeological interest.
