East Lancashire Hospice get muddy at Go Ape

Rivington had a group of 11 Gorillas on the course yesterday from the East Lancashire Hospice, based in Blackburn. ELH is a palliative care hospice, providing practical and emotional care for patients with terminal illnesses.

They were on a team bonding day out and had a fantastic time on the course, despite the wet weather! The muddier the better we say!

Monkeying around at the Great Yorkshire Show

One of our Tribe has been monkeying around at this year's Great Yorkshire Show. He's been getting up to all sorts of mischief. He was spotted infront of the Clipper which is shortly due to set off round the world for six months in the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race. The Hull and Humber team are being sponsored this year by Welcome to Yorkshire.

The tribe are delighted to have come across an article talking about the student who appears in the new Lotto TV ad filmed using the UK's longest zip wire at our first Scottish course: Go Ape Aberfoyle!

Here's a snippet...

DAREDEVIL drama student Evelyn Caputa has been plucked from obscurity to star in a new television advert for the National Lottery.

The phrase "It Could Be You" took on a whole new meaning for the former Greenwood Academy pupil when she was chosen to appear in the ad which shows her whizzing through a Stirlingshire forest on a 426m long zip wire - the longest in the UK.

So, keep your eyes peeled for the ad which is currently appearing on ITV 1, ITV 2, Channel 4, Five and Sky.

Go Ape Aberfoyle in new Lotto TV ad

Go Ape Aberfoyle (that's the one with the longest zip wire in the UK by the way) is the star of a new National Lottery ad - Never Miss a Draw with Lotto Online.

A crew came to the course in April to do a day's filming for the new ad.

It's been spotted on Channels 4 and 5 by many of our facebook fans as well as iTV1 and 2; and we've also found it online. The campaign went live today so keep your eyes peeled. We'll try and get a copy for our website ASAP.

goape.co.uk wins TravelMole web awards

We're very pleased to report that the curse seems to be broken and we have finally won an award.

We submitted our brand new website in the Responsible Tourism category in the TravelMole Web Awards 2009. The public voted before a panel of expert judges from a number of industry sectors did the final judging of the shortlist. We were against three other sites in the shortlist.

A couple of the gorillas went along to spread the Go Ape message to the masses and were very happy to accept the award.

Marcus Falconer, Marketing Manager commented: ‘We're really pleased to get recognition from the travel industry for the quality of our new website, which seems to be proving a hit with our gorillas and baboons as well.'
