Be prepared for some serious speed on the Treetop Challenge course in Sherwood Forest where the tandem zip wire speedometer can hit 20 mph.

Kids are spoilt for choice with Treetop Adventure and Treetop Adventure Plus courses and one of the only three Nets Adventures in the UK. Decisions, decisions. Bounce in the clouds or climb up to the clouds?!

Treetop Challenge

An exhilarating high ropes course with epic zip lines. Suitable for ages 10 and up, and at least 1.4m tall (4'7").

Near to Robin Hood’s infamous Major Oak hideout, Go Ape Sherwood Pines can be found 20-miles from Nottingham. The 100-year-old pines provide a high canopy and although the woodland is open, you’ll find our high ropes course nicely hidden.

If, after tackling the Go Ape adventure, you’re still up for more fun, there are over 3,300 acres for you to explore. The largest forest in East Midlands could keep the family busy for days!

Bring or hire bikes to take advantage of the popular cycling routes.

Sherwood Pines is a regional centre of excellence with a marked Family Trail, Adventure Trail and the more demanding Kitchener’s Trail.

There are also two walking routes including the Dragonfly Trail which has an all-weather walking surface and children’s play areas.

Want to be at one with nature? You can sign up for a bushcraft course and learn the skills of shelter building, fire lighting, willow weaving and traditional woodworking.

Finish off with a relaxing drink and bite to eat at the Sherwood Pines Café.

Know Before You Go

Wear sensible clothes for adventure.
Footwear must be sturdy and suitable for the outdoors. No sandals, slip off shoes, open toes or heels.
Gloves are a good idea. Either bring a pair or you can buy them at the cabin on the day.

Bring or hire bikes and explore one of the cycle routes - they suit all abilities.
Bring a picnic and enjoy some al fresco dining.
Go orienteering with the Zogg trail.
Take a look at the Sherwood Pines Trenches which bring the Great War experience to life.
