Meet the Buxton Team
Jo McClaren
Hi y’all... we're now going into the third season at Buxton, aka the sunshine capital of Europe...!! When I’m not swinging around the tree's I like to get rid of my surplus energy by going on adventures with my friends, both home and away. I like experiencing new cultures and meeting colourful characters whilst setting myself personal challenges. I'm a firm believer in living not just existing!
John Wakeham
G'day folks, having been here at Buxton since the start I am very fond of the site here. I have spent 9 years working in the outdoors and enjoy a variety of activities from climbing to kayaking and I'm about to try diving. My most memorable experiences have been doing the Great Gorilla run in 08 (I am hoping to run again this year) and climbing my first Munro.
Rachel Kirk
Hi guys, I'm Rachel , this is my first year at Go Ape having spent the last three years working in outdoor education down in Dorset, where the sun actually shines. When not in work I enjoy climbing, horse riding and jetting off to see the world!
Adam Argent
Hello, hello, I'm Adam. Having spent the last three years working and trying to explore the world I thought it was about time I explored the trees! Outside of work I like to head to the mountains for some walking or to the coast for the surf and I love to tell a good story! So if you're sitting comfortably.....then I shall begin!
Ben Bob Bennett
Hello there I am Ben Bob, one of the three Ben's that makes up the Buxton Go Ape team ‘Ben Xtreme'. We can be seen tearing up the single track around the High Peak mountain biking or climbing the odd rock face with the rest of the Buxton staff. I'm the early bird that catches all the worms!
James Parker
Hello everyone I'm Jimbo. When not working in the trees, I enjoy climbing, walking in the mountains and venturing down river in my gentleman's craft. I am also an international teashop connoisseur! I love my mummy very much because she always packs my lunch box with delicious treats; and no, you can't have any.
James Dunne
Hi everybody I'm James Dunne aka Dunny aka Flash Gordon! My hobbies include scuba diving, eating, caving and climbing! At the end of last season I awarded myself best looking instructor and fastest instructor to come to the aid of a damsel in distress here at Buxton!
Ben Lightowler
Hi I'm Ben, it's my second season at Go Ape in Buxton. I really enjoy being on the course and working with the team to help people get the most out of it. When I'm not in the woods, I enjoy mountain biking, running and playing guitar. I have also led a successful career in the sport of tiddley winks, reaching top ten ranking in the north-west tiddley winkers league, but regretfully had to retire due to a long standing thumb injury.
Sally Rowe
Hey there I'm Sally. This is my second season here at Buxton Go Ape. I love being out in the forest especially first thing in the morning when all the birdies are singing, it's beautiful! Other than swinging in trees I love to do loads of exercise and I'm currently training to be an aerobics instructor, just call me Mrs Motivator! When I'm not bouncing off the walls you can find me laughing at something or someone because I'm very, very silly.
George Atkinson
Alright, I'm George aka "the G"! I've been here at Buxton since the beginning! When not at work I can be found hanging around on a rock face or playing bass in my band ‘flies are spies from hell', coming soon to a venue near you!
Ben Liddle
Hello! I'm Bin Lid, the third of team Ben extreme it's my first season here in Buxton and there's nothing I like more than spending my days off fishing, climbing and mountain biking when the sunny Buxton weather allows. I take my tea strong with two sugars.
Leigh Smith
Hello I'm Leigh. I have all the gear and the beginnings of an idea! Or so I've been told! This is my second season at Go Ape Buxton and I'm enjoying every minute of it. When I'm not working you'll find me climbing or walking my dog Wilma.
